So, here's my take on the giant vampire bat from Super Dungeon Explore. Part of me thinks I should have gone with bright green to match Dracula's "True Form" from Symphony of the Night, but for some reason I decided to go with a more subdued color pattern.

Here he is.

Oh man, the shading on Nocturn's arms make him look ripped!

Stop being so good, you're making me want to stick my entire SDE collection into the dip!

Very good paint job on Nocturne, nice and clean blends. The firegels are eyecatching and unique, like what you did with the eyes. :)

Amazing work sir, will you be submitting any paint work into the Crystal Brush competitions? They have a new CHIBI category.

John, I will if I ever get out to Adepticon. Right now, I'm on a one-con-per-year budget, and I've been doing well at Gencon's painting competition.

I like the idea of a chibi category (the difference in style really changes the meta). I've got a second Starguild Sapper that I've converted into the Kid (from Bastion) and he really wants a scenic base to go with him. You may have just given me an outlet for him.

Very cool minatures love your work.

Can I ask how you went about the flesh on the giant vampire. Was it all hand brush (or some airbrush)work and your base colour, did you start with low, mid or high tone? What order did you work in your shadows/highlights?

Sorry for long question, very eager to learn.

Started in the middle, wend down, then up. It is all brush work.

The middle, in this case, was a fairly light color. I don't remember what paint pot it was- I think it was Reaper's vampire flesh.

I shaded him using dark blues and purples- the darkest one is Reaper Nightmare Black. I went up with Frostbite and Menoth White highlight.

Here's my rendition of Kaelly the Nether Strider. For the concept, I decided to make her a Nyss, and based her color scheme off of Cylena Raefyll of Warmachine fame.

Fantastic work! May I ask what brand of paint you use for your models?

I use P3 and Reaper. Both are great brands.

Here is the resin version of the Wurm Claw Exemplar. He was popular enough that they've created a plastic version of him to deliver with the Kickstarter, but I got mine way early from Gencon.

A-may-zing! The details on the contours of the armor is just superb! And the nicks in his sword blade...Ooh, I weep with envy.
