Thought Id share the start of my SDE starter boxed set. apologies for the pictures, they were taken from my phone

Im going to stick to the cards for colour schemes rather than invent my own. (edit - this didn't happen lol:)) Im getting the monsters out of the way first and then ill get cracking with the awesome heroes:)

First off, Starfire wip
Image

Also my son wanted his own castle crasher inspired mini, so I made one out of greenstuff and thought it'd cast up well. First time using pewter to cast with but found it much easier than resin.

All my minis have had their base coats quickly airbrushed on - there is not much room on my painting tray!

Yup, I know what you mean! The clean up was the worst bit for me - wasn't expecting that 1/72 scale type bendy plastic. See the merits of it now - Im not scared when my kids handle them!

The Castle Crashers knight is fantastic! Fits the look/style of SDE pretty nicely too!

Nice work! Truly inspiring. I also love those Castle Crasher guys. I should have thought they would be a perfect fit for SDE. Sculpting wise they are superb. Painting wise they look great as well. If you sold them, I would buy a set of 4. So if you have any to sell let me know too.

Thanks very much, you re very kind! Sent you a PM ;) Yeah they fit in with the 8/16 bit Double Dragon/Golden Axe ethos very well I think. The whole process from sculpting to casting is really fun. Id recommend it to all, its really rewarding. Just make sure you get the high temperature RTV silicone for the mould and your good to go. Using metal is so much easier than messing around with measuring resin catalysts etc.

Need to make the purple and pink knights next :)

Also Ive started the first of my heroes, I love painting these guys!

(The colour scheme is based off Ilfeen , an NPC Elf from the MMORPG Runescape)

Thanks! Yeah I wanted to do the studio theme but my inner muse decided otherwise! I might buy a second set of minis to do in the studio colours... :)

Ive been a bit sick recently so been off work playing around with photoshop and eating soup.

Ill do an illustrated pic when I feel better. What do you think? Overpowered or just a underwhelmed 'meh'? Let me know!

I haven' done any math on this. But t first glance the stat line seems OK (identical to the Paladin), the special attack seems a little weak for 2 actions and the potion seems a little strong for a potion.

That potion seems way overpowered. As the consul, I'd cry in my soup if that got used on the barbarian. It would be an invincible killing machine for a whole round, and would probably generate so many potions that every player on the board would have the effect by round's end. The poison bolt seems fair, but I don't know if I would ever use it as the player, the magic keyword would make it pretty weak for that character. Why not just have a 2 action red poison smash, +1 white/blue sweep, poison?

Thanks for the feedback Gotz and Garbled! Back to the drawing board for me!

What about the other knights stats? I want them to be in the paladin's band (give or take a dice or two) however with something different from healing.

Orange is fire based, so maybe a spray attack, with fire
Blue is ice based so was thinking of a freeze/immobile move and
Red uses lightning so was thinking of a lance attack with pacify?.

In the computer game all of the knights have access to a bow and a magic attack.

Id like to use all four in one game so ideally they complement one another. Any and all comments welcome! Im not going to use them until Ive got a few more games in and seen all of the heroes on action.

Managed to finish a couple more characters off!

Started the mammoth task of the kobolds today. The paladin is sporting a set of Runescape dragon armour and the Herald is in some classical aged bronze. Tried to add a little verdigris but it didn't look to good:/ so I washed over it.

You've got some nice stuff there, sir! I always appreciate custom sculpts. I also like the red armor of the Paladin...that was the first armor color I told myself I was going to paint, and 3 Paladins later, it still hasn't happened!
