I've been collecting & very slowly painting Super Dungeon Explore figure since the first release of the game. In the last year, I finally knuckled down & made some real progress with painting them.

As I finish others, I'll post them in this thread. I wanted to get everything I've done so far up, so I just did group images- if there's any figure you want to see closer, let me know & I'll take a dedicated pic.

Here's a link to the image collection on Google+, for those interested in larger versions.

First up, the purple spawn points.

Next, the green spawn points.

Please forgive the photo quality throughout; I need to get some better lighting...

Red spawning points (only 1 so far, and poorly photographed at that...).

I really like the way you used purple on your zombie flesh. I just might steal that :)

Cool. I love painted figs. Keep it up.

Two parts to this:

First, WOW OMG AMAZING! These look great and those toads are seriously the best. This is a great job.

However, two of your models I feel don't hold up to the standard of the rest.

Herald of Vulcanis and Roxxor. They are not bad, I just feel they don't hold to the same standard as the rest of your minis.

Again, awesome job. The only critique I have is you painted your other minis better than those 2 hahaha.

Thank you! The base coat was a purple-grey (GW Warpfiend Grey), then finished the flesh with Coat D'Arms Putrid Green (same as old GW Rotting Flesh). I did the eye sockets & wounds with a cheap craft store Lilac.

Here's a (slightly) better image of the zombies.

Thanks for the compliments! I've always had trouble painting flames- Roxxor came out better than I'd hoped, but not nearly as good as I'd like. If I ever get the resculpt, I'll consider that practice :)
I really thought the "crazy eye" Deeproot Scout would be the stand out bad figure. Looks like he's been munchin' on the Okoshrooms...

Definitely a different Jon :)

Did a couple more figures. Working on finishing some heroes & mini bosses before jumping back to spawn points.

Back to spawning points- three more Red ones done

Egg Clutch:

Claw Shrine:

And the Lava Whirl. No matter how many fire guys I paint, my flames always look awful. Starting to think I've got some sort of mental block...

Those fire figures were the hardest I ever did. I did, however, learn how to wet blend. It was the only way to get fire to look OK.

Basically I base-coated yellow, then had a dab of yellow and a dab of orange on the palette. I blended them on the figure while both colors were wet. When I finished that, I added a dab of red and did the highlights, again blending the orange on the figure while the paint was wet.

It was not easy, but I did wind up with attractive fire bad guys.

Thanks; I really need to go back & learn more of these kind of techniques. I was self taught from waaay back in the day (pre-internet) & learned a lot of bad habits, but none of the good ones. I'll have to try this way with my next flames. If I get ambitious, I might revisit these guys at some point.

More heroes- two of the big ones. I actually did these a while ago, but just got around to getting a picture.

And my latest, the Death Spectre mini-boss. I'd been putting it off for a while, as I really like the sculpt & wasn't sure I could do it justice. I'm happy with how it came out- not my best, but I think he'll be intimidating on the table.
