Cool! Are you planning to do a wash on it at all to bring out the smaller details?

Yes it does... Yes it does... I find these new slots to be even worse than the traditional SDE slots.

Anyways...
White suits them very well. I'll probably still go orange, but they really look good in white.
They become more wolf-like than foxy.

It's possible to see white fox.
A Kitsune is a fox spirit, and I think that white is more suitable for a fox spirit.

Lookin' good.

Almost all miniatures have slots or pegs of some sort. Usually it's irrelevant because you'll be putting basing material on the whole shebang anyway but these pre-sculpted bases are definitely "a thing". I am not doing any basing material on mine so I just carved in the lines logically, iow just carve along the existing space between tiles or whatnot and extend it onto the slotted part of the figure. If you are commited to the idea of a totally detailed base even under the miniature (there are certainly a few where it's pretty glaring) and also do not want to use any basing materials, I'd try to caaarefully cut the mini off the base, alter the base, then put it back on. The tiny feet on the chibi ninja could make this hell but you can easily pin them (see: Google about pinning minis). Do this for all your guys at the same time, assembly line style. You could also look into using green stuff or Sculpey to good effect for matching wood grain to the existing wood etc. without a lot of trouble. If you are new to sculpting, this is a good place to practice! :)

You will need to elevate the miniature anyway if you use thicker basing stuff like static grass or else you now have a 1 1/2" tall ninja covered by 1/4" of grass. :o

Also bear in mind that as often as not, if it's hard to reach you won't really see it anyway. As Buddah said, "if a ninja's skirt is painted but it's underneath the miniature...it is really painted at all?"
