I posted a battle report using Bakusho Mondai, Momotaro and a Hidden Shrine Mystic against the dungeon boss Onibaba here. I might have used Son Goku as well, but I already had two STR heroes, and really needed a WILL hero - especially when going up against Onibaba! Spoiler alert - it was AWESOME!

Shapeshift cards do not need to be labelled in regard as to what they shapeshifted from. Also, the card doesn't have a definition for Spirit Affinity.

Shapeshift cards do list that they can transform back to their original form. ( ie Von Wilder & Angry Bear) For reference, SDE Ninja Ambush models just say "Elemental Affinity" in their keywords whereas I just picked one thematically for Uzumaki. This is the old version of the ninja elemental affinities (I read in the forum somewhere the final version has Air giving Fly now).  Cheers

Why would you put in "Spirit Affinity" though? If you wanted to give the model Feint, then just put it directly on the card. Less need to look at things means less confusion.

So.... Jurogomo..... what do people think? Should she be a mini boss? A dungeon boss? Have stats for both because she is so awesome that she deserves to get used?  I ma just excited because I finally found one for sale at a good price. It is being shipped, but at least this is motivating me to get back onto this project.

Most abilities like bloodsucking cost 2 action points. If it costs one, she can potentially heal half her health every activation. Other than that, she looks quite good

I don't think Bloodsucker is that bad as it only heals on wounding, which is tough with 3R in the late game, so she may rather use her magic attack as it has a lot more punch but does not heal her. Skills like Bloodsucker (see Nocturne) usually cost 2 AP because they use the primary attack attribute. Also, since it just uses 1 AP, you could modify her melee attack accordingly. Give her 3R in STR and give her the ability "Bloodsucker" which allows her to heal whenever she wounds with a melee attack.
I don't like that Bind is basically a renamed Ice. I understand that you don't want to give her Ice as she does not use cold attacks but using a renamed state is not that nice. Also, I think states like Slow or Immovable (see Royal Warden) would fit the Silky Strands a lot better. But Immovable would be tough without any way to defend against it...

The fact that it goes onto her weak stat, it gives her an option to make the attack, but at an increased risk. it also helps to make her a bit more dangerous, which is befitting a Dungeon Boss, without being broken. I think I will modify it to the Sweep and then go for Slow and/or Immovable.

What about adding Virulent to the bite (Bloodsucker) roll? (i.e. a bonus +1 blue if the opponent is Poisoned) it would certainly be thematic. I still don't think that it would justify bumping that up to a 2 action attack.

I'm personally kind of sad that Spray was removed. You could either have a definition on the back or make it refer to some reference sheet Google Doc or whatever that lists a bunch of extra fan-made game effects.
As for status effects, really you should be going for effect rather than for theme, though it is good to have abilities be thematic since it makes more sense to people that way.

Well, the defintion for Spray is on the back, but I am willing to relent on that and not use it if it has been removed as a valid status effect. As for the status effects, yeah, I hear what you're saying. It would be okay to give an "Ice" status effect and people have to stretch the imagination a bit to understand, but I also think that the Immobile and Slow would be very appropriate and very powerful effects. I will do some playtesting to try it out.
