 Critical hits & Massive Damage

I’ve been playing Arcade 2.0 quite a bit (and loving it!) but there is a ruling that is unclear to me. I’d like to hear other players’ interpretation of this rule.

Critical hit: The action inflicts one extra wound in adittion to any it would cause.
Massive Damage: When an offensive action inflicts a wound it inflicts two wounds instead.

What is the operator precedence on these rules?

critical hit then massive = (1 + 1) • 2 wounds = 4 wounds
Massive then critical hit = (1 • 2) + 1 = 3 wounds

I don't see why factoring in the critical hit first would make for four wounds. It says to do two wounds, not double the number.

But to further clarify I would say that that the Massive Damage happens as a result of an action the Critical Hit is not an action. It is just a good roll.

So, no matter how you slice it, it comes down to three damage.

I agree /w Spazz.

Critical hit and Massive Damage are wound modifiers on a single action.
