Is that I'd never have even heard of the game if someone or ones hadn't decided to make a big stink about it. It looks pretty cute, to be honest, and I have good memories of other, though dissimilar Complete Card Games like Grave Robbers from Outer Space and the like.

Other then the fact that Tentacle Bento was removed from Kickstarter due to it all. The controversy surrounding it would have provided a nice bit of publicity for the game.

It'll be interesting to check if all that wailing and gnashing of teeth changes in tone after people have actually seen the game, and if there'll be follow-up reports from the most vocal detractors once it's out.

I heard about the Kickstarter within a day of the project's original launch date, thanks to a "I weep for humanity" comment on an IRC channel where I hang out. As I recall, my first reaction was: "Heh heh. (I will, of course, purchase a copy if that shows up at the local gaming store.)"

I doubt it; virtually every blog that raised a stink about the game has already declared victory and posted a postmortem of "We stopped the terrible rape game from being made by getting it removed from Kickstarter! We won!". By the time the game comes out I'm sure they'll be conveniently forgetting about their previous adulation and simply won't bother with talking about the game except perhaps to flippantly dismiss it.

The real victory for them was proving that they can rally their followers and bully companies like Kickstarter into censoring things they don't like.

Which will only ever get them as far as a job with the daily mail criticising video games and films that will ultimately get released and make more money than any of their sensationalist moaning

lets not bring this stuff back up we are here because we showed our voice is storng enough to show that this is funny to some people and has a place in the world despit the efforts of facist controlling types thinking that they know hetter than everyone else and that our pornography and entertainment must be kept seperate at all times...unless it is passion of the christ or 50 shades of grey then we will make it as popular as possible so that any child can gain access to it unrestricted

I for one think that if the misconceptions can be corrected with proper evidence, then they should be. For example, I've seen people froth at the mouth about how "all the cards have names that are clearly about rape", which any actual knowledge of the game would prove so blatantly false that it's not even funny. The recent Desborough debates across RPG forums, with their initial confusion between Tentacle Bento and Hentacle, didn't help matters, either.
